Using the following program I created a bootable 9.04 Ubuntu Thumb Drive that is Persistent (it stores any changes you have made).

Once you download and run the program it is in English.
It has some neat features like cloaking and automatically makes the partition for the Persistent feature.
I used an 8 Gig USB Drive and made the Persistent Partition 4 gigs. You can use a smaller drive.
I have done things like this in the past with Puppy Linux, etc., but this makes it as easy as falling off a log.
