Boat oil used as PCMO?

FC-W oils have been discussed in length on BITOG for years. It is the standard certification for four stroke marine use. Just as TC-W is used to indicate two stroke marine use. Yamalube has used that certification on many of their oils. I would say you got a bargain and I would have no issue at all running it in any motor vehicle. One of the advantages of this oil is it will not thin out as much as an automotive of the same viscosity. Providing of course it's within the same parameters of heat and rpm conditions.

Here is one of many threads on this oil:

If you look in the uoa/boa section, you will find analysis for these oils.

They are a lot like HDEO, I’d use it without worry.

I’m confused by some of the responses. Were we expecting to see an API donut on marine oil? Lol.

Apparently, it does get better..."If repeat use is desired"...this oil must magically refill when the FunLPro hose is collapsed!!!

OP, I wouldn't recommend this based on the missing approvals/specs.

Edit - Oddly enough, I don't see this brand listed on the current NMMA list that the label says both it "exceeds" and at the bottom claims to be "Certified"

I found this in one of the links you provided. Thanks for the lead.
