Last free oil change at dealership so previous oil wasn't in long enough to justify a report. I did request TAN but they didn't do it. Not sure what's up with that.
I have M1 0w-40 in there now, will change it out in 7500 miles.

Comment: We talked about the rough winter in last year's report, and Boston got slammed pretty hard again this year. Your BMW doesn't seem to mind, though. Metals were definitely higher than last time (most notably aluminum and iron, from pistons and steel parts), but some of that is just due to the longer oil run. The harsh winter may have had some effect, if the engine saw a lot of cold starts, but nothing is far enough out of line with averages to call a problem. The TBN is good at 3.7, so try 10,000 miles next, and we'll keep our fingers crossed for a milder winter this year!
