Bluetooth feature not turning on my Gateway laptop

I'm hitting the Fn button and F6 and the bluetooth feature isn't turning on as it should. My parents also have the same laptop and their Bluetooth doesn't turn on either. I've looked in my control panel, program files, and have done a search for bluetooth software on my laptop and nothing is turning up.

Any suggestions?

Maybe your laptop doesn't have bluetooth.

I broke down and called Gateway today. It's bluetooth ready, not enabled. I got a plug in USB Bluetooth stick off eBay for around $11 that has a 300+ foot range.

It'll be nice to connect my Blackberry to my laptop wirelessly and sync my contacts, plus I can tether it to my laptop and use it as my modem. I'll also be able to print from anywhere in the house because the printer I'm fixing to upgrade to is bluetooth wireless.

I love technology.
