Friend of mine asked me if I had noticed anything like this with my Tundra and I can't recall. It was long time ago. Mine is 2016 but the same engine.

2018 v8 Tundra:
Found blue or green debris (very small plastic looking stuff) in the oil filter cartridge after the very first oil (factory fill) change at ~ 4500 miles.

He says:
Overall, the filter looks pretty clean with few very small metallic or shinny stuff in different pleats.
With bunch more of a little bigger blue or green plastic looking stuff mostly gathered in one of the pleats!

No filter available. He has old pics of the filter on his phone from ~5 years ago.

Dealer had told him no worries, he asked me and I told him, maybe assembly stuff and I have no idea what I'm talking about, just a wild guess ... But I will ask the experts and pass on the info.

Thank you!

Nothing really to really worry about, I always find some odd ball stuff like that (small paint, sealant, etc debris) in the factory oil filters on the first oil change.

Car is running great!

We were chatting about car stuff, engines, tools, etc. and I have a Rhino ramp but made a new ramp for oil changes with the wood laying around so we ended up talking oil ... and he showed me the pics.

What got me interested or curious (maybe more than him), was the perfect blue or green color I could see in the pictures. I don't recall ever seeing something like that.

That's all.
