Just found this on youtube, not really oil related but still interesting none the less

I say its from over boosting and a lean mixture. Very common mistake for someone who has no clue about turbocharging

Listening to them I would take the failure analysis with a serious grain of salt. Does not sound the brightest bulbs out there swearing.

Unless it was a butcher's tune, it's weak internals.

Agree about running too lean. Big problems follow.

It is unlikely that the engine was stock. Every boy racer out there wants to ramp up the boost, and it's addictive.

15 measly psi? let's crank it up to 20! Then 25!

The next noise heard is kaboom.

As stated earlier it's usually fuel enrichment that fails to keep up as the stock injectors and pump get over worked. But I've seen dozens of blown turbo motors in just the last couple of years, as they get popular and common expect more vids...
