Blending question.

I want to blend my own oil.

Problem is, can I blend say, 0W-40 and 10W-40?

The weather over here is tropical whole year long, so no winter for me.

I guess the W rating is useless? And I need to have the same 40 rating only.

TsLeng,

Since your climate is tropical why do you want to blend 0W40 into something else. It can certainly handle your temperatures but why do you want to do it? Even at your temps, the lower rating still has meaning with regard to flow at engine start and you do not HAVE to match the upper weight when blending.

Actually I have some leftovers of the above mentioned oil.
