I ALWAYS re-set both trip odometers when I re-fuel and I check my mpg.

Normally, with that torqued up high horsepower 2.5L, I average 26-28 in "city" driving and 34-40 mpg on the highway.

The trip odometers read 36.8 miles when I re-fueled with 17.5 gallons of gas.

OK, but does the car's computer track MPG? And if so, what was the reading after you got it started after returning to the airport?

ryan, do you or anyone else know if this model has a drain plug on the tank?
other possibility is that it was drilled and drained, once empty a plug of a jb weld type compound that resists fuel would have had plenty of time to dry and cure in five days.

if so, your back to checking security cameras.

if not, well, i had thought about the alien siphoning myself, but did not want to say!

enjoy and good day

I didn't check my fuel/mileage computer until this a.m.

It claimed that I had averaged 30.5 mpg over 865 miles, which would represent two fill-ups.

I don't believe the mileage would be that high if the car had idled itself dry.
