BITOGers, what's your favorite car show on TV?

Nascar on FOX.

The good ole' boy announcers get technical and assume you know what they're talking about. If they get a slow moment they go to that cutaway car on the rotisserie and show what parts got wrecked thirty laps ago on so-and-so's car.

I don't get cable which helps me avoid drivel like "pimp my ride" and that show on discovery channel where the motorcycle builders throw wrenches at each other.

I haven't really found the time to watchmany of the shows anymore. But, the one I have always liked was Overhaulin'. They really do a great job to the car without the poorly written overly dramatic conflicts and many of the other shows.

Plus, I took second in a CarCraft magazine contest once and had the 69 Camaro I planned out drawn up by Chip Foose. So, I may be just a bit biased.

American Hotrod and American Chopper, altough Im getting bored now with the two shows. I used to watch the car shows on TNN, now Spike tv, but it seemed shows like Horsepower tv... are only 30 minute commercials, to promote whatever product a vendor wants advertised on the show in length.

I like Horsepower TV on Spike. The guys that do that show seem to really know what they're doing & they make the complex understandable.

I second that! Tiff Needell is such a fun TV personality! And the girl is pretty cute too...

Last time I watched a 5th gear on Speed it was about a year behind the actual release dates for the episodes. If you have broadband, and if you get a bittorent client, you can get the latest episodes over at www.finalgear.com. Also, if you like 5th Gear, grab some of the Top Gear stuff. Similar to 5G except hour long episodes, and a little more comedy thrown in. Both are good shows. The episodes run about 180mb for 5G and 350mb for TG.

(Not affiliated with Finalgear, just found it the best place to stay up to date with 5G and TopGear.)

Shade Tree Mechanic used to be a great show for the do it yourselfer...now that show (Two Guys Garage) is absolute junk in comparison. They spend as much time taking coffee breaks and pimping some crummy products as they do working on the car/truck.

I love Overhaulin. They take deserving people's cars and help them out, unlike Pimp My Ride. Well, Pimp my Ride has its times. The one with the Escort that is 2 cars glued together with Asphalt... I like oh Xzibit buys him a Scion xB. That kid takes his 2 little brothers around for his mom, who's dad died or something.

Oh... Trucks! rules.

Top Gear via the BBC. Trouble is you have to download it if you want to watch it in the states.

When I was in England a couple of years ago, I loved that show!

I agree completely. it used to be pretty good, now it's just an infomercial.

I like overhauling and rides. I watch american hotrod and american chopper although nothing american chopper builds is interesting to me. I think I jsut enjoy watching them build stuff and argue with each oher.
