BG syncroshift

I used this fluid in my Eclipse and it was amazing, so id like to know if i can use it in my 1997 GTI VR6
My car calls for a GL-4 75w90 fluid thats for brass syncros. Not sure what GL the BG syncroshift is.

This fluid needs a VOA. Getting teeth pulled without novacaine is easier then getting tech data from BG.

Talking to our BG guy they pretty much recommend using it place of the GL-4 gear oil stuff and ATF's in MTX cars and trucks.

Should be fine. We use their power steering fluid instead of Mercon and MerconV on CP stuff and it works great. Shuts up almost completely some pretty noisy PS systems and so far not had any issues with Synchroshift in our cars as well. Seems to work great.

I find it hard that any fluid can be used in place of 7cst ATFs and 15cst gearoils. It just can't be effective across the entire weight span of typical MTFs, MTLs, ATFs, gearoils......

A VOA is a virgin oil analysis. Most companies list info on their fluids. BG doesn't.

All I want to know is the weight of Synchroshift!

I use Redline MT90. It`s a GL4. Since we`re talking about GL4 gear oils,anyone know who makes Nissan 75W90 gear oil? Just curious.

Here's how Pennzoil Synchromesh (similar to BG/GM sychrostuff) did in my transmission: UOA

My car specs GL-4 75w90 - I have been running Redline MT90 since. Shifting was still the smoothest with the Synchromesh, but I wasn't sure about the protection.

If I read the UOA right,it looks like the Synchromesh was too thin for your transmission. That`s what I`ve been told,that Synchromesh,Synchromax,etc is too thin for manual transmissions that spec a 75W90 gear oil and will cause bearing failure.

The BG is excellent in chain drive transfer cases that spec ATF. I hused to have UOA test results in that venue from about 1990-91 on Range Rover transfer cases. I'll look and see if they might still be in my files. Not sure how 17 year old used oil analysis would help, though.
