I just think for $13, $16 or more for an oil additive at each change...why wouldn't I just spend that money on a higher quality finished lube? For $25 I could just run Castrol EDGE Extended Performance or Mobil 1 Extended Performance for only 6k mile oci's and still come out ahead.

From the way some of these additive makers describe their product, makes me believe I could add it to a grp1 and run it 10k miles!...‚

IMHO manufacturers dont approve any products. is that the manufacturers cant spend time testing EVERY products.

If I feel the need every few oil changes - I'll use Sea Foam (< $ 7.00 per can at WM) @ 1 oz. per qrt. of oil capacity in the engine for a run up to 300 miles before an oil change ... Other wise , like the earlier poster said - why not just run Castrol EDGE or Mobil 1 Extended Performance for a 6K OCI ?
