- South PA, mild winters for the most part
- almost entirely short trips, rarely over 10-15 miles
- 80+% city driving. Little highway miles.

Bring on the suggestions. ^_^

German Castrol 0W30
Mobil 1 0W30

Change oil and filter every 10K miles or yearly

That's what I have in there right now. 10w is fine for the colder starts? I would say it's rare we dip under the 20's.

Why not just run 10W-30 in the warmer months, and a 5W 0r 0W-30 in the colder months?

Only planning on one oil change a year or something?

With the driving you do, any brand synthetic meeting GM 4718M. Mobil 1 is fine. Platinum is a great oil also.

Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 is working well for my LS1, oil analysis results are good, and I drive mine all year round.

I used M1 0w40 when I had an LS1, since i got it for free. Increased the "piston slap" like a mother! Just noise i believe though, I think the M1 did a good job of protecting.

I love these threads. Eventually every oil and weight known to man will be suggested.

LOL. I have to admit that was good. I'm in that crowd.

For me, my engine didn't sound as "smooth" with GC compared to PP. But I don't know if that has to do with the GC or just running it during the winter.
