I have been experiencing some stiffness trying to get into 1st gear lately. My Blazer only has 45k miles on the New Venture 3500 transmission. I browsed through the search and from what I could tell Amsoil, Redline, and Royal Purple seem to be the preferences. The manual says to use Pennzoil. All comments on recent experiences are appreciated.

My Jeep's NV3550 loves Pennzoil! I have used RP but drained it do to "recommended" wording and went with stuff the "Meets" DC's requirements.

Redline MTL, BG SyncroShiftII, and Amsoil MTF are some of the best out there.

I wonder just how different the chemistry is of the different synchromesh fluids. The only ones I know of are:

Pennzoil Synchromesh
Amsoil MTF
RP Synchromax
GM Synchromesh
GM Synchromesh Friction Modified
