What are the best sites to list a car for sale, free or pay? I listed a 2007 Mazda 3 (one owner, no accidents, 47k miles) on craigslist, not getting much interest, but I suspect the major reason is the manual transmission.

Thanks

Craigslist has always been the best for me. I have found pretty much every buyer on CL. Maybe it's priced too high?

You have to have some patience selling a car too. It can sometimes take a few weeks.

+1....Purchased my last vehicle from a Craigslist ad.

Personally, I hate dealing with the clientele that you get off craigslist, but maybe it varies in different markets? Still, it's probably the only free service that gets you a fairly widespread exposure.

And I agree, if you are getting no responses, it's most likely because there are similar (at least in the eyes of a potential buyer) postings at a lower price currently being advertised.

If there's a carmax nearby you should see how much they are willing to offer, coworker sold them 3 cars so far and have gotten good prices from them.

This might be a good car for ebay.

Most all my cars haven't been new enough that they're basically showroom fresh and the buyers would find something to complain about after the fact.

I always have them reply to my ad via email, and if their email is incoherent, a low ball offer or otherwise annoying, I just don't reply.

Craigslist. Free and local, you just have to weed out some of the trolls/people wasting your time. I've sold two cars via Craigslist.

I always request a phone number on all CL responses.

In upstate NY we have the wantaddigest, both paper and online. I am amazed about how many people buy the paper copy, its all ads. Its free to list and you pay when you sell. And other options. Anything like that where you are?
