I'm considering taking taking advantage of FCP Euro's Lifetime guarantee, where you ship back the used product for a refund.

I'm planning on buying a 2011 BMW 328i (possibly x-drive) within a few weeks. I also do my parents' BMW maintenance.

I'm wondering what the best choice would be, IF I were to buy oil off of FCP Euro.

I left out Liqui Moly offerings and BMW 0w-30 ll-01 FE.

OPTIONS:

5W30 Pento High Performance Engine Oil (5 Liter) - Pentosin 8043206 - $43.59 (5 liters)

Pentospeed Super Performance 5W40 (5 Liter) - Pentosin 8044206 - $44.99 (5 liters)

Red Line 0W40 Engine Oil (1 Quart) - 11104 - $14.89 (1 liter)

OR if you guys think I should go Liqui Moly, there are like 20 options, so recommend one, haha

RL 0w40 hands down. 5k mile interval.

I would not go Redline 0w40. It's going to be really heavy with a HTHS of 4.0

Even Redline would NOT recommend this oil.

I would go Pentosin or even Pentosin Super Performance 3 (It's LL04 and consequently probably why it didn't pop up on your search)

I like RL fluids and my experience in Cars and bikes has been great. It does have higher HTHS and the grades are always to high end of the 30 or 40 weights.

I am sure you will make good choices based on your budget and quality perspectives.

I am running Ravenol VST 5w40 now in my F10/N20 motor. 135k miles, zero oil consumption. MPG no changes. $53 for a jug from Blauparts. PAO base with additives to meet LL01.

.
Not sure if available through FCP, however are M1 ESP 5W-30, Ravenol RSP
5W-30 (LL-01), REP 5W-30 and RUP 5W-40 (both LL-04) still within budget?
That's what I ran in BMWs and Minis recent decade with REP 5W-30 being
my favourite for some time. Even though M1 ESP 5W-30 lost its LL-04 cert
I'd steel feel very comfortable using it after warranty.
If Pentosin 5W-30 HP is LL-01 approved it's certainly another contender. Not
available where I live though.

The thing is FCP has a liftime warranty, so you return oil for a free replacement. I do not do it, but many do.

I'm not sure if I'll do it.

Should I avoid Redline products for transmission, since I'm not tracking it?

Keep in mind you have to buy the initial purchase twice before you can send one back, so it's not like it's completely free, there is still initial investment. Which for boutique oil at $15/qt is not insignificant.
