Hello all! New here..great forum.
Looking to get some opinions about oil for my 1995 Jaguar XJS with a AJ16 engine,103K miles.
I live in Houston, Texas...temperatures can get as high as 105, but during the long summer we hover around 98
I have been using Mobil 1 High Mileage 10W30 and 10W40 on the car, mainly because I was attracted to it because of its seal protection properties. I change it every 5 to 6K miles.
A lot of guys in my area like to use 20W50 on the same engine, but I think this is too thick, even at our temperatures .
Now I am considering going over to either Amsoil ZROD 10W30 or Amsoil premium 10W40 or Redline 10W30 or 10W40.
Jaguar recommends every possible oil on their manual and subsequent technical bulletins,So thats no help.
Am I good with the 10w30 and 10w40?
Is the ZROD appropriate for my car?. Really looking forward to hearing some opinions
