What do you have for best inline 6?

With honorable mention to the VR6, because it is really neither a V nor in-line.

Tough choice. I have the Toyota 4.5L 1FZ-FE, Chrysler Slant 6, AMC 4.0L and GM Vortec 4200 on my list.

My 1981 Datsun 810/Maxima with the L24e I6 was bullet proof. It was also the first “talking car” which was annoying at times. The Chrysler slant 6 and the Chevy stove bolt I6 are legendary as well.

BMW M20 gets my vote. Wasn't it also the last BMW inline 6 with cast iron block? The newer I6 were all AL IIRC.

Is that the 240Z engine? The one in mine had the harmonic balancer fall off at 30,000 miles and screwed up the crank nose, so no love from me.
