Best gasoline stabilizer? Your thoughts...

I usually put-up 20-25 gallons of gas every fall for emergency winter use. The majority of this gas is used in my small engines or dumped into my vehicles the following summer. I also need to fill my 2011 BMW motorcycle for winter storage.

In the past I've always used red Stabil. I've never had problems so far.

Just wondering; is there anything better to use now (with ethanol in fuels). What are you using? Thanks!

Whatever is cheapest (and relatively name brand) is all I've used to store 25 gallons of fuel for about a year at a time. The ethanol is actually advantageous since it helps minimize water issues from condensation (free gas line antifreeze).

I'm still using Sta-bil all these years, for both my emergency backup (generator) and lawnmowers, etc. ( I store 5 gal for emergency use every winter).

Starting this year: I'm trying some Marine Sta-bil just to see how well it goes.

try getting some 100% gas at a marina.. it will store much better.

Then use your fuel stabilizer of choice..

IMO nothing in 100% gas is better than any additive in 10% ethanol gas

Beware of excessive moisture(water)in gas bought from marina. Our local marinas, 7 out of 10 of them have rather significant amount of water in gas due to improper handling during refueling (from delivery tankers). As a matter of fact: I've seen delivery tankers accidentally dropped their hoses (unintentionally I bet) into the water, took it out and immediately attached to the marina's tank attachment to refuel before taking any additional steps to rid of those water...

Fortunately: we aren't too far from the refineries (we have 2 refineries within 50 miles radius) + the ones down in Cherry Point, so fresh, contaminant-free fuel is not an issue.

PRI-G....Google it and read. The cheapest place I've found it is at BatteryStuff.com

I use the blue Stabil.
Think I read somewhere it's better than the red, but don't recall why that is.
