In January of 2023 I got 3 new tires (upgraded to Load Range D) Carlisle Radial HD’s for my trailer. All has been well and it sat over the summer up until last weekend with the tires covered. When I uncovered the spare tire, I saw that it had what looks like a belt separation. This tire has never touched the ground so I was pretty surprised.

I took it into Discount Tire and they were also surprised. We looked over the other 2 and they seem fine. They got me a new tire for $40, I guess Carlisle is now Carlstar?

Anyone else ever seen this? I’ve had other separations with unused donut tires on both Genesis I’ve had.

Carlstar (formerly Carlisle) was acquired by Titan International around March of this year. I think most if not all of their trailer tires are made in China. They do make some of their lawn/golf/ATV tires at plants in TN & GA.
