been almost a year on gc, 2 years on oil filter. change or keep going?

Based on what I read and see on BITOG, the insolubles count in my UOA's, the sounds the engine makes upon the startup, the way the filters looks when cut open, the car manufacturers suggestions to replace the filter every other oil change. Just a few.

i went ahead and changed the oil. im going to cut open the filter which has 17 grand on it and post pics sometime next week. as for now i am going on vacation and wont be back for a week or so, unlss i can get internet access at my vacation home.

i also changed the fiulter and oil on my stepdads f150, hes got atleast 12K on the filter. i say atleast because he has dodgy oil change maintence records and i know it has to be atleast 12K by looking at them. probably more like 15K though. be taking some pics of that filter too.
