bc as good as gc

is the bc 5w-40 oil that i have cases of @ work good to use or should i find some gc 5w-40 to use in my 100,000 mile lt1 camaro? or should i use another syn like mobil1

GC is only 0w-30. BC is supposed to be a very good oil though, as good as GC, not sure, but a good oil none the less. It meets pretty much the same specs as GC, but is not green and we are not sure exactly what the base oil is.
I have 8 qts of BC that will be used when I am out of GC (in about 3 yrs).

GC is very close to a 40 weight oil, and is quite shear stable. I think Patman has had good luck using GC in his LT1 (IIRC).

Yep, when I had my LT1 Firebird I had great results using GC, and in my LS1 Corvette the results are even better. I think BC would do well also, but I don't think it's as good as GC.

Nobody can say for certain whether or not the 5w-40 BC is better or worse than 0w-30 GC, as there simply isn't enough information concerning the base stock, additives, or used oil analysis.
