Battery charging during storage

In two months the battery goes out completely. I've been going through too many batteries. My Grand Cherokee manual says disconnect the battery if it will not be used for three weeks.

It sits unused for 4-5 months, but I charge it with the home made AC/DC adapter every couple of months for a day or two.

The reason I've been doing this is the 1st battery that came with the tractor only lasted ~2 years which I thought was very poor. I then replaced it with the same brand battery and have been desulfated the plates in the fall and charging on average every 2 months. This spring will be year #4 for the new battery.

Widman, that is a very nice restoration on that Corvair.
I have owned three in my life and the best from all three was not as good as what you have done.
I can see you have patience sir.

Bravo !

Rickey.

For reference, Mercedes recommends disconnecting the battery during storage and trickle charging the battery every three months. It's written in their manual.
