I had an issue with the fuzz on the battery post. Got a new battery, but didn't repair the battery cable terminal. Can I use a standard type terminal or do I should I use the Toyota terminal. Dealer wants 20 bucks for replacement. Sounds like way too much. Could I just use the Standard Terminal?

Those terminals work for about a year then become a nightmare, with corrosion at the wire crimp down spot and corrosion travelling inside the wire insulation rotting the cable inside-out. They're a good emergency fix, that's about it. If you do use one, paint the whole mess with the thickest grease or vaseline you can find.

I'd either get a terminal that screws onto what's left of your wire, or, best, a whole new thing that's all soldered together at the factory. Sure you'll have to crawl underneath to hook it up to the starter... but battery reliability is worth it.
