For anyone looking for a fun addition to a home theater setup for cheap, I recently added bass shakers or "butt kickers" under my couches for some added bass effect. Practical too for when my 8 month old is asleep and I don't want to shake the house with my subs but still "feel" something watching a movie with gunfire, explosions, etc. Anyone else using these?

Not currently, but I've always wanted to try them.

Maybe in our next home...

Which specific ones are you using?
One Aurasound AST-2B-4 per couch...one is a 3 seat recliner and the other is a love seat recliner with center console. I find one per couch adequate if mounted well, these are cheap but pretty responsive and I don't think I would ever feel the need for anything more. Each one is driven off a 100W mini amp that I got off of Amazon for $50 a piece.

Nope...in the audio world, there is no replacement for displacement. Two 18" Ultimax subs in what my beautiful bride likes to call "the coffins". Nearly 3kW each ;-) My two oldest daughters are out of the house, and my youngest son is nearly 10 and can sleep through a nuclear explosion (much like his father). Getting a buzz in my behind is not the same as really experiencing the sonic impact.

My son used to have 2-10" Juggernaut subs in a box in the trunk of his 96 Corolla. Those things would rattle my houses windows when he played his music in the driveway! 😲

I can make my 9 year old son fall down if he stands in the middle of the floor on the story above me when I play a test tone (yes I know this is not good for my foundation or structure). I have made my mother "lose her cookies: in my theater room.
