New Toro snowblower worked great for about a week, then started a wandering idle and reluctance to start. The mix was probably about three months old, and I didn't give it much thought other than stale gas. Went to make a new blend and realized my Mobil MXT synthetic 2 stroke has been around for over two years.
Does that oil "age", and if so, how long do I get with a newly opened bottle?

Checked with the dealer. Told me I flooded it. Oil was fine he said. "Gas is bad," he grumbled, "can't get good gas since the war."
Starts and runs fine. Less choke. Fewer primes.

A flooded 2 stroke is a royal pain to start. Just enough fuel. Sounds like you have it down now.

My Echo weed whacker is picky about the gas/oil mix. When I start it up and it won't rev I pour the mix back in the two gallon gas can, shake it up and fill up again. So far it has worked every time.
