When the new SM rated motor oil comes out, whenever it does, there have been some concerns about backward compatibility of SM rated oil for vehicles where SL or SJ rated oil were recommended. How will people get around this?
Will there be SL rated and SM rated motor oil being sold side by side for a long while?
Or has the backward compatibility problems been solved?
