My granddaughter and I were walking around the lake in Hamilton City yesterday when we came across a dragon skeleton.

I think this must be the work of the same artist who displayed these pieces in the showroom of a motorcycle shop where I worked.

My Pajero parked out front.

Thank You for Pictures! . Those are awesome. A few miles from my house, there is Draco, the Duxbury Dragons Mascot. Draco is sculpted the chain that bulldozer treads are bolted to. It has tube frame wings and a creator with a sense of humor. Draco gets rigged out for the holidays.
Draco is quaint compared to these works of industrial art.

I like looking at these things to see what he's used in the construction. For someone who knows Triumph motorcycles, he has really nailed all the important visual points...I thought it was a real bike when I first saw it from a distance. The dragon is in someones back yard which backs onto the walkway around the lake. I like that, they paid a lot of money for it, and then put it on public display for no reward.

Our family had it's annual Mid Winter/Wife's birthday get together/picnic on sunday....always fun having a picnic in the rain. We went to the Botanical Gardens in Manurewa, it's been there for a long time, but none of us have checked it out before. As well as trees and plants, there are lots of sculptures about, here are some that caught my eye...and camera.

This is called Splayed, looks great from a distance, and it's not until you get this close that you realise what it is made from.

Looking across a small lake we saw a dinghy and maimai (hide).

It's made from bricks. Someone sitting on the bench at the top of the hill...we'll look at her soon.

The tent is ceramic, representing woven flax.
