Back seat in 2016 Crosstrek

I need to lift up the back seat in my wife's Crosstrek. The part your butt sits on. Checking for mice. I do not see any release button. Don't want to rip it out breaking something.

I tried lifting up front and pulling the back up and forward.

Is there a trick?
