I’ve posted this map before. The legend goes to 120 F. I just want to invite all those good folks from Texas to come up to Idaho, Montana and South Dakota to warm up some. :D

It’s summer, news at 11:00
But a different summer compared to what I experienced in the 1960's, 70's. I.E., at the beach we used mineral oil and competed to see who could turn the darkest. I knew we were in for a hot summer when the Yoopers had their long underwear off well before July 4th. this year.

Any plans to ride over to Sturgis for the Rally? I was there in 2001, on a CBR1100XX.
No. I was there a few times as a kid with my dad, but haven't been there since I was 21 (now 49). It was always difficult & expensive to find a place to stay (it's about a 5 hour drive for me), and I think that part has gotten harder over the years. But, it would be cool to go back and walk through, just to see what it's like now. Maybe someday!

The South Florida East coast is often reasonable during summertime. Humid, but acceptable.
Last year and this year Miami is way over the top with temperature and humidity. For decades it was generally around 92 from May-October. Now for the past 2 years the temperature is in the mid to upper 90's with the feel like temperature between 105-112. I call that unacceptable. Plan on selling my condo by next spring and moving to a much cooler climate.

I have no idea why people call South Florida Paradise.

96°F right now. Not as humid as the last short lasting heat wave.

That is 7° above average for early August. People act like they are being burnt to a crisp. Yes I have endured 110-115° actual temps with humidity. It ain't fun. My body has never liked weather above 95° and have had two mild heat strokes in the past 30 years while mowing with a push mower. So I don't do that no more. I like the rider, FitBit even gives me exercise credit for using the rider, it thinks I'm on a Mountain Bike.
