When the "sludge" TSB was issued by VW/Audi in regards to the 1.8T engine's sludge problems, did they also shorten the drain interval to 6 months or 5000 miles from 1-yr/10000 miles in the Audi A4? (Note: The Passat had ALWAYS had a 6mo/5K interval...only the A4 is in question here)

Audi, Audi, Audi. They can't get their story strait. At first, they let dealers and customers use dino at 10k intervals. Then they said "use VW 502 oils at 10k". Now, what? Are they asking for VW 502 oils at 5k? I hope they are prepared to do the 5k changes w/VW502 for free because they can't issue a revised maintenance schedule at the customer's expense.
I don't think they've shortened it.
I was trying to check the maintenance schedules on the more recent models on Benley Publishers site but it appears to be down at the moment.
The sludge letter makes no mention of a shortened OCI.
