Don't post very often but I do come here to find information on oil and keeping my older engines running well. Real quick back story, acquired an 86 Suzuki Samurai from my brother of unknown mileage (multiple speedometers were in the box when received). Spent a few months getting back on the road the only lingering issue was oil consumption. Finally had a chance to do a Berryman's piston soak overnight and what a difference it made to the carbon buildup on the piston tops. I have a borescope so I checked all the cylinders before and they had massive amounts of carbon buildup, could not see the valves reliefs. If I run regular gas (88 octane) I'd get detonation/preignition. Anyway I attached what one of the piston looks like now, will do the same next oil change.
