AWs like Moly and dirt

I kind of understand how AWs like Moly protects metal to meal with a 'plastic' film. But does this film help with dirt in the oil? Or does silcon cut the film? Thanks

I don't even play a tribologist on TV, but Si is much harder than any "film layer".....therefor it's best to keep the Si out - especially in crystalline SiO2 complex form. (I suppose it's better to have these "films" than not, though)

My view is the AW's are for metal to metal protection and foreign elements reek havoc regardless.....
