OK, I've got to throw the Baloney flag on this one. The ad says, "A Volvo is still a Volvo". Not true -- nowadays, a Volvo is actually a Ford. . . But hey, who's picking nits!?!

I love the way in the 1960's and 1970's, major engine overhauls, like valve jobs, or new rings, were just considered 'routine repairs'. These days, people would junk a car if it needed that, no matter what the mileage!

No baloney in 1968. The 544 was a great little car.

An ad like that wouldn't fly today. Too much reading involved for our attention-span-of-a-gnat masses -- and too much of an appeal to reason and common sense instead of flash.
