This was my Dad's first new car, a 36 Chevrolet. Drove the car until 1950 (except for the years during WWII when he was in Europe). He traded it in on a 1950 Ford. I remember when I was 4-years old making one of our monthly trips back from Oklahoma to visit with my grandmother and family, when the timing gears stripped and the car broke down in Bowie, TX. My Mother and I rode back to Dallas on the Continental Trailways bus and my Dad spent the night in Bowie while the car was fixed. The next month when we went back to Oklahoma in traded it at the Ford Garage in Cement, OK. It's funny the things we can remember from our youth.
