So I disconnected the battery for a night and now my trans shifting seems a little off.
Just curious if anyone knows how many miles it takes for the trans to relearn the shifting characteristics.

It's a 2019 santa fe 2.0 8 speed.

Thanks

In my very limited experience, it seems to matter how far from the default settings your shifting characteristics are. In my Camry if I get lazy and drive in a lot of slower traffic the tranny will start to lug a bit and upshift at 1800 rpm. After a few days of more spirited driving it will stay in gear until higher rpm.

My experience with my car has well ^^^^^^

Hope your back has been doing good lately... And don't swing for the long ball on the golf course...

The initial setup should relearn rather quickly. 10-15 minutes has been my experience. Over a couple of days it will adjust to your throttle habits.

All depends the vehicle - you will need to refer to the service information. For example, Toyota 8-speeds have a very complex relearn procedure.

In general, it is best to not disconnect the battery unless you really need to.
