Auto-Rx & Mobil 1 Maintenance Dose

The Dyson report says there is believed to be 4,000 miles on this oil. The article that links to it says 6,000. Regardless of that it should be noted that the only VW approved Mobil 1 oil for this engine is 0W-40, not 5w30. VW's recommendation is to not exceed a 5,000 mile OCI out of concern for sludge.

The fuel dilution issue might be traceable to the spark plugs. With the proper tools (which would include a torque wrench) they can easily be replaced in under 30 minutes.

No mention was made of what grade of gasoline is being used by the owner. This is a turbocharged engine, one that requires premium.

Dyson Mileage figure got fouled up in transmission. The extra 2000 miles have no bearing on test results. Remeber Auto-Rx had cleaned the sludge out of this engine. Your reading a test about Auto-Rx effectiveness in a maintenace mode.

This engine kept running because of Auto-Rx with no increase in engine wear.

Fuel dilution was almost 2% in the extended drain. The short 2000 mile previous drain showed a very high fuel dilution as well. Makes me believe that in the six thousand mile run the oil was severely compromized for at least the 3000 back end miles. None the less the wear metals look pretty good considering. Looks like the M1 add pack stayed together pretty well with the maintenace dose applied plus 2% fuel.

With so many e-mails I need to make this clear Auto-Rx cleaned the entire engine based on the application required.

Auto-Rx Maintenace Plan keeps the "gains" from cleaning consistent because the engine is always running clean.
