Auto-RX and engine check light!!!!

I'm almost 2000 miles into the rinse stage after using Auto-RX and my check engine light came on yesterday!

Has anyone had their check engine light come on after using Auto-RX?

Car is 2000 Mazda 626 V6 with 80K miles...

Didn't have time to investigate yet...it came on yesterday...Just want to see if anyone has had it come on after using Auto-RX...

Its about that age for the O2 sensors to die, but I doubt its related to ARX. Never heard anything like that before.

I had the opposite experience in my van. After a long idle in winter the Check Engine light would come on. After a few hundred miles with ARX in it, also this past winter, the light didn't come on any more. O2 sensor was replaced last year but didn't solve the problem.

There have been reports of intermittent "check engine" lights during ARX usage. In most cases it clears up after the rinse phase when all the contaminants are rinsed off the sensors.

it was false alarm after all ...fuel cap was not tightened well

Sounds about right.

I doubt autoRX would really effect the SES light on most vehicles. The only sensors exposed to oil in the engine are the oil pressure sensor and the oil level sensor.
