I change oil couple week ago and I left the container out side and it rains, yesterday when I took to auto parts they say they can't take this because it mix with water.

What my other option now?

I don't recommend it but you could bottle it and drop off at Walmart etc. That's what I have to do, return to a place that sells it, they've never inspected it. Not sure how much water is involved, if you can carefully separate, then sop up the water with paper towels and toss that into the trash.

In the future, bottle it up immediately and cap off. Or wait until it cools enough. Then no more problem.

Well, water settles to the bottom. If you have something with a bottom spigot (sacrificial ice tea container, Gatorade cooler, old BOX of oil with internal bladder or maybe wine in a box?) you can let it sit there for a few hours then drain out the water. It'll be pretty obvious when the flow changes from mostly water to mostly oil.

Then don't tell the next place what happened. I'm not suggesting abuse of waste oil collection but supposedly it's heavily filtered and they have to account for some moisture. See item #3 here:

But wait, there's more....
My town services its vehicles and always (meaning my lifetime) had a waste oil tub.
The story is that some jerk poured old paint into it and loused up the relationship with the recycler.
Now it's closed.

Sorta like the guy I saw dumping Styrofoam packing peanuts into paper recycling.
I swear, sometimes I think we get what we deserve.

Just leave it the way you have it now, open in a reynolds aluminum broiler pan, sitting in the backyard next to the chickens and discarded water heater and washing machine.

Well, the way I see it is, oil came from dinosaurs, dinosaurs are kinda like cows, cows are kinda like bulls, which is what my story sounds like.

Take your oil into O'Reillys or Autozone; they will take it. Good luck.

we always used an old stump to dump used oil. My dad told me diesel was so cheap when he was young, they had a tank with a pump that shoot fuel out the back. they never fixed it and the diesel would shoot out onto the ground.

Before I moved, the area AZs/OReillys had signs on their doors. "Used Oil Tank Full"
I went down the road to a Victory Lane, boys there took it both times I went.
Those guys rock! RIP Skip(original owner)

Poor it into a container with a spout like a jerry can. Let it set for a day or two to let the oil and water fully separate. Pour off the oil into a different container, stopping when you get to the water. Problem solved.
