Audi re-thinks the piston engine

I don't think VW has a lock on timing chain length or quality.

I remember an old Ford Exploder I worked on with a 4 liter V6 that, IIRC, had enough timing chains to start my own bicycle shop...

Haha thats what we get when Ford commissions the engineers in Cologne, AG to convert an OHV engine series that began as a V4 to SOHC- chains, chains, jackshafts and more chains.

I cant imagine that with so many chains and jackshafts, that the left and right bank cams are ever truly in sync within a half degree of each other.
