There is writing on both hoses leading to and from the ATF oil cooler. This is what's written on the hoses:
AT Oil > ACM < FY07
What might ACM mean? Could FY07 mean Fiscal Year '07?
I bought the '06 Camry in January of '07, but I think it came off the assembly line a month earlier in December '06. It's a J-VIN car (made in Japan, instead of Kentucky, if that makes a difference in this case).
The '07 Camrys started using ATF WS in their U250E transmissions, while the manual for the '06 Camry says to use T-IV in its U250E transmission. Both '06 and '07 transmissions weigh exactly 205 pounds. It would seem internally they're the exact same tranz. Maybe only the software was changed.
If FY07 means Fiscal Year '07, I hope this doesn't mean I'm suppose to be using ATF WS, even though T-IV is mentioned in my '06 car's manual. (Just chekcing all possible angles.)
A couple weeks ago, I added Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF to the tranz pan, so it's currently 50 percent Mobil 1 and 50 percent the original fluid (probably T-IV, but, who knows, maybe WS--Lol). The car's shifting great with the Mobil 1 ATF addition.
My '06 must have been one of the last '06 Camrys off the assembly line before the '07's started rolling. That's why I'm kind of wondering what that FY07 means that's printed on the ATF hose.
I sure hope the assembly line folks put T-IV in there, like my manual says. I would think it is T-IV because the Mobil 1 is mixing well with it--good shifting.
