Panic set in when I realized I've done drain & refills for the trans every 15k on a'02 Avalon, but never changed the differential. I can't find a drain plug, but on the driveway, anything can happen. I had the system flushed at the dealer once. Does the differential fluid get "changed" when a flush is done and/or a drop and fill?
ATF/Diff fluid combo flush?

No, it's a separate unit.

I'm thinking of doing a dino DexIII w/AutoRx, run it for 5k miles (or whatever the instructions state), then go to a synthetic DexIII as the spec calls for.
Sesnsible?
I can't believe I missed this for 95k miles.

Most Toyotas share the final drive fluid. One exeption I know of is the Corolla w/ the 3 speed auto transmission. It was marketed as the VE (value edition) and has gear lube at its axles. I wouldn't fret over changing this, as gear oil can be good for the life of vehicle as there is truely never any heat damage here.

My dad's 1997 Lexus ES300 was built this way.
Draining out the old stuff at 150,000 miles and putting new synthetic in made the car much quieter.
