at what mileage is a PCV valve typically replaced

Ive heard some say to just clean it out with carb spray every nowe and again, others say theyre good for a long time, and yet others say to change it every year or so (maybe 30k miles or whatnot).

Seems to me that if its sealing and flowing propery, then its OK...

However Honda ones if I recall correctly are plastic, so thermal cycling may be an issue, and induce unforseen leaks. My finacee's integra's PCV got a crack in it due to poor sealant application between the two halves.

Its a4cyl engine, should be simple enough to check... just remove when engine is running, feel flow... place finger over it, feel for positive colse of flap... I think thts right.

I change mine every 15k. They are only $5 or so. I figure it's cheap insurance, and that's what the manual says, so I just do it.

How easy is it to change out a PCV valve? I can't begin to find it on my 04 Sunfire. Guess I'll have to get a service manual with pictures
