So I went to Lowes today and they had one of the Arnold Viper Commercial Universal Mulching 22" blades. I picked one up. Thing I noticed is, it is flat. Except for the teeth, it is just flat. The old one was kind of an open trapezoid shape, or something. It does mulch better, but it is as bit noisier, (kind of like the noise the string on a string trimmer makes). It is a 3-in-one (mulch, bag, discharge). Is this the correct type of blade for it?

I have one of these installed on my craftsman push mower and it is awesome. I didn't mind the factory blade to much but I could never go back after using this one.

I can't believe the price of blades these days ~$20. Usually I use a blade that is turned upward at the trailing edge. I picked up a good new one today for just under $15.

Is that similar to the Gator?

Strangely, I felt that the Gator didn't much as well as this Arnold mulcher (the link is huge, so this may work: http://tinyurl.com/24tl3zv ), as it left a fair amount of clumped grass.

The Gator is VERY heavy as well.
