Anything fun in Palm Springs, CA?

The weather should be nice, but since you are in Florida you might have it better. Golf, the Aerial Tramway...70-80 degrees in Palm Springs...snow at the top. Restaurants galore. Gambling. 2 hours from Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County beach towns.
The drive to Big Bear using Hwy 38 going up then back using hwy 18 than Hwy 330 down to San Bernardino is a nice drive. Snow in the mountains but no problem driving.
You name it, you have it within a 2 hours drive. The magic of Southern California.. Just be mindful of the traffic heading into Los Angeles.

North of Palm Springs, lots & lots of wind power generating "farms", very impressive, worth the drive.
Joshua Tree National Park. Great rock climbing out there. Or just go and watch and be sure to yell "YER GONNA DIE!!!" at the climbers.
The ghost town of Amboy, the Mojave Reserve, Death Valley, are all in a day's drive. East of Palm Springs at Churiaco Summit is a private museum dedicated to Gerneral Patton.
Go to the Morongo Casino and see the concrete dinosaurs. Don't forget Hadley Orchards dried fruit shop--it's incredible.
Hike to the top of Mt. San Jacinto (10,600+ feet) and visit the stone hut near the summit. Climb Mt. San Gorgonio (11,502 feet). Both mountains are right on top of Palm Springs.
Go to Mt. Palomar, and the lovely semi-ghost town of Julian.
Eat at The Hat. Eat at In-N-Out. If you drive to Orange County, eat at the Crab Cooker in Newport Beach or La Palma Chicken Pies in Anaheim.
Visit Bass Pro Sporting Goods in Cucamonga. Eat incredible ribs ar the Red Hill Barbeque there. If you have money, the Sycamore Inn there has incredible prime rib.
Go see the Planes of Fame Air Museum at Chino.
Go to Mt. Baldy and ride the ski lift.
Drive the Angeles Crest Highway.
Drive up and see the Eastern Sierra and/or Las Vegas.
See the Colorado River.
See, and more importantly SMELL, the Salton Sea. The stench is mystical.

I was just out that way about 2 weeks ago and spent the day in Palm Springs. Well near Palm Springs. If you're into animals/nature, the Living Desert is a kind of botanical garden/zoo rolled into one. Didn't do the tram due to my nephew's dislike of heights, but it looks interesting. Palm Springs itself seemed like an upscale touristy place, lots of shops and restaurants.
If you head to San Diego and are still into nature, the Chula Vista nature center (south of SD and right near the tolley line) should be interesting, and I also spent a day aboard the USS Midway museum.
