Anyone used Peddle to sell a car? (Or have suggestions)

I have a non-running car that I want to get rid of, with craigslist now charging a fee for car listings, not sure what the most effective, and free way to list would be? Not even sure at this point if I want every tire kicker in my driveway since I doubt I'll get much for it. I stumbled across the site "Peddle" online, seems to have legit reviews. I am curious if anyone has used it and if so if the experience was okay, or if anyone has a recommendation on a site?

Does it belong in the salvage yard? You afraid to tell us what it is?

Maybe to the salvage yard - if i were craigslisting it it would be listed as non-running, same for a site like Peddle. I don't think what it is is relevant to the question of has someone used Peddle and is it legit, or have they used a similar site and had a good experience.

The car is near worthless to me because I don't want to invest in getting the car to a shop, getting it diagnosed, and either paying for a repair to sell (that would surely be a money loser) or getting it back to my house on a tow (now knowing what makes the car close to worthless). To someone else or to a junkyard perhaps its a great deal. The car (other than not running - haha) is in relatively good shape to pick parts from or potentially repair - but hey maybe no one wants parts for that car. I fully understand that just because the wheels that are on the car cost $70 a piece at the local junkyard doesn't mean I'm going to get $280+ to junk it, just trying to find information on how to get rid of it for the most relative $$$s and without getting scammed.

Regardless, I'd rather not the thread devolve into that car is worthless or did you check XYZ, that wasn't my point to posting, it was to get an idea of what sites people might have had success with so I can get an idea of my options, and not walk into a scam.

I just posted two cars to Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace. Both cars sold to Craigslist customers a day after posting. No solid hits from Facebook even though both ads were identical. $5 per listing and immediate results seems like a deal to me.

How did Peddle work out for you, if you even used it?
They gave me an offer of $290 for my car. When I checked their website stated that they pay be check.
I am not comfortable signing over my title and taking a check from an out of town company, and yes this bears out on their BBB reviews.
When I called and inquired about why a check for a $290 car, they said that it's really up to the tow truck driver, and that when they call me to arrange a pickup, I can ask about it then, and just decline if they want to pay by check.
My local junkyard will pay $240 if I deliver it to their yard (which I can do).

Another thing about Peddle is that they seem to have a bunch of 800 numbers and operate under a bunch of different names.
It's possible that this because they bought out the competition, but to me it's like this:

I didn't pull the trigger yet mostly for the same reasons you listed (check and BBB reviews). FWIW my offer went up over time after like a week or too, I think I started at $190, went up to $330, the offer expires after a month, so likely worth waiting a week or two if you decide to use them. Did a new offer and it started at $315 and then moved up to $330 again.

You could always put it on Craigslist under auto parts and that avoids the $5 charge. Just say it's a parts car which it is.

These people are making me angry already. I called them today, since I responded to their email from last Saturday and they never got back with me. When they do car pickups you can't specify a time, only a morning or evening appointment. So you really can't schedule an appointment on a weekday, unless you work at home. So I gotta wait until next Saturday. Now if I had known that 2 days ago or if they had responded to me email on Saturday (note they emailed me on Saturday, so they were working on the weekend), I would have asked for a pickup on Sunday. But NOOOOO, they got to not respond on time and not answer the phone on Saturday, which then leads to another big delay.

At least they claimed that they would be bringing cash. They also noted that if I brought the car to the junkyard, they would be paying with a check. I still can't figure that one out. I should really make a video of this and upload to YouTube.

Nobody wants parts for a 1995 Ford Escort, or any other car that's basically extinct.
You didn't want to pay to list it, so putting it in auto parts lets you list it for free. If you post it for $100, maybe someone will buy it just for the tires.

Peddle is offering $290
My local JY is offering $240
For what it is, these numbers are more than what I was expecting.

Why would I want sell it on CL for $100?

The tires, just like the rest of the car, is worn out.

I just got an email from Peddle saying that they have cancelled my offer! Email saying that I can always get a new offer. But when I log into my Peddle account I see that it's a duplicate, so I assume that all is still good. I find all of this confusing. Local JY has upped their offer, slightly to $245
