Anyone have drainback issues with WIX #51372?

I just changed the oil on my 2006 Lincoln Town Car about 5 days ago with a Wix part # 51372 in lieu of the Motorcraft 820, because of the contaminants I've found right out of the box in those filters. The car is not my DD, so it has sat that entire time until today. This morning I started it and noticed it took about 2 or more seconds to build oil pressure. I never had this issue with the old FL820S. I remember running a 51372 on my Grand Marquis with the same engine and also noticed this a bit, but not nearly as bad as this one. The Lincoln had an FL820S on it before this and it would build pressure immediately. As soon as the engine fired up, that oil light was out. Anyone else have this issue with these filters? I'm afraid to drive it with this filter on it now and am probably going to do a filter change on it in the next few weeks. I just hate the idea of it dry starting for so long every startup.

NOPE, no issues with auto extra ones we use at work on f-250 plow trucks and our scrap hauling trucks. None on any of my clients/family and friends stuff either.

The bypass setting on the WIX is 22
Purolator One PL24651 is 8-16
Fram TG2 is 12
It could be that the bypass relief valve setting is to high on the WIX.

The filter bypass valve setting doesn't have anything to do with building oil pressure after the car has sat for along time. The ADBV is slowly leaking on the WIX filter.

I don't think it taking 2 seconds longer to build pressure or make the OP light go out is going to harming anything. But if you're worried then just swap out the filter. Does this WIX filter have a silicone ADBV?

I’ve seen WIX filters where the ADBV is off center and not serving it’s purpose. I’ve given up on the “new and improved” WIX filters.

Thanks for the replies, everyone.

@ZeeOSix: Yes, it has a silicone ADBV. I've ran this filter before and it took maybe a second to build pressure, but this one is the worst. Somewhere between 2-3 seconds for pressure. Not sure why it's this way. I guess maybe I got a defective one. This is one thing that I can give to the Motorcraft filters (even though they're not that great anymore) is the fast pressure building. Not even half a second, even in colder temps around 25 F.

Could it also be due to poor flow through the filter? I recently bought some Wix 57145 filters (made in Mexico) where the louvers in the center are barely open. I’ve seen some other photos on bitog of poorly punched louvers.

Very possible. I started it this morning and it didn't take anywhere near as long this morning for the oil light to go off as yesterday. I'm guessing it may be that the ADBV is leaking and the longer it sits, the more it leaks down. I'll be replacing the filter soon. Still in the process of determining what filter I should go with next. Anyone want to help me out. feel free to chime in. Hopefully something comparable in price to the one I'm replacing. FL820S is out of the question, though. Too many contaminated with glue in the center of the filters.

Supertech ST2 is a solid performer and probably the best value. Unless you can find an Ecogard on sale, in which case that could be the best value.
