Hey y'all...quick question.

I'm a full time firefighter, and part time dad. Looking for something to do on my offtime when my wife is at home. I am looking to buy a pressure washer to wash the house, driveway, etc.

My wife suggested that if I spend that much I should do it to make money. That got me to thinking. I could upgrade to a larger model and maybe do some houses and decks on the side.

Anyone know anyone who does this? What kind of money do they charge? Is it worth it?

Thanks for the info.

You could approach trucking companies and offer an on site washing service. It is too much for them to unhook and drive their trucks to a carwash one at a time. Tbe guys that I've seen do this bring their own water but if you get yourself some sort of business insurance you could drive trucks to your on-site washer without a license. That would require unhooking and for legal reasons I wouldn't do the reattachment.

the only ones I know of tend to be as an adjunct to a landscape business. It's pretty labor intensive and usually elHeffe drops off the laborer and the equipment in the morning, checks on him a few times during the day and picks it up along with the $$ at the end of the day.

It's messy, very hard on the back and boring as #$%^.

to be in the business you'll need some bonding or liability coverage: power washers can break windows, strip paint from siding, cause slips and falls, hurt animals, etc......

My daughter's boyfriend does this in the winter (why would you want to do it in the winter?? - but I think that's a real component on why he finds the work during that season

). His friend found the work ..he was just the primary helper. I believe they did mobile homes. I would have said motor homes ..but I would think any dealer would have their own pressure washer and personnel to do it. It provided my daughter's bf with about $100 for a Saturday or Sunday morning.

Easiest way to find your place in the market is to call a pressure washer outfit and see what they charge for the services that you intend to perform. Discount as needed due to your lower overhead.
