Been with a company called Gulfstream for over 5 years and haven't had a claim in over ten. 1700 sf 2 br house in a gated community a few miles from the west coast. Last year I paid $3200, and this year its going to $4200. Found Kin online and they are quoting $2400. Does anyone here have them? Their reviews seem good but who knows how real those are.

Usually when someone is significantly undermarket, they are trying to buy business. Which means....they won't be priced at that level (or in business) for long.
Also, I don't see that they are rated by Ambest, so....I would be concerned.

Do they cover “named storms” or have some much higher deductibles for named storms?
Hurricane deductible would be $7,100.
Sounds about like the norm in Florida, based on a percentage of the home value. My in-laws are with either Chubb or AIG in Florida.
Reviews are worthles, check the department of insurance for complaints and finacial strength, you can also checkbif they have been sanctioned by FL DOI. Look at the yearly commisioners report and read one of their policies to see if its broad covereage or limited. Finally find out where the main office is, to see if you report a claim a company adjuster will come to you or you are getting an independent appraiser which takes longer.
