Anybody bought tires at the Ford store?

We sell a lot more tires than we did only a few years ago thanks to their big push on tire sales. We can get pretty much any brand, but dont carry Firestone / Bridgestone or their other brands on the Ford program due to the fiasco a few years ago. The tire matching thing is run through a program we have with Ford corporate so we don't lose too much money. Honestly there is little to no money in tire sales. There is maybe a 10% markup on tires at a normal price structure. A lot of times we sell tires at $5-$10 over our cost which isn't much more than the profit built into them to begin with.

When my wife need new tires she asked the Ford dealer she bought her Explorer from. She got a price that did not include mounting and balancing, that was extra. The dealers price for the tires was a lot higher than DT's for the same tires shipped free. Plus there was no sales tax and there was a rebate on BFG tires from DT, none from the dealer. This time around DT was a better deal.
