Looks like gas chromatography at times below. He seems to like Redline and Amsoil. SA for Amsoil 0w20 is 1.05 and the Noack showed 9.5% (there is a 2% error with Noack testing) and Redline 0w20 had a SA of 1.19.

Oxidation for Amsoil showed 66 and 122 for RL, signifying the presence of an ester.

They have no concern over SA in Europe LOL.
 
Those are infrared spectrograms showing the various functional groups present in the oil samples. Knowing what the functional groups are indicate the types of base oils and other chemical entities that are present in the final blended product.

A gas chromatography or liquid chromatography chromatogram would be much more complex.

I get the impression this guy thinks IV/V always means better oil. Not exactly true. Group III's have their place and can be better in some instances for certain things.
